This weekend we have great events planned for us. There are two events and we would love to have as many people as possible attend. Both of these events will be held this Sunday, May 18. 2014 after church. Here are the details below: And goodies galore. This has always been my favorite. I have a weakness for scotcharoos! What are your favorites?
Look forward to seeing you all this Sunday for these great events.
Sorry we have been missing in action as of late, sometimes life has a way of doing that to us.
Have a blessed day and see you at church this weekend!
Can you believe it is almost May? The weather sure has been chilly. but it has to warm up soon. I noticed the tulips in the flower beds outside of the church are starting to pop through the dirt–a sure sign that spring is on it’s way.
When I found the graphic above it reminded me of my childhood when we would make May baskets out of cupcake liners and pipe cleaners. Did you ever make May baskets? Then we would go to all of our friends and neighbors, leave a May basket, ring the bell and run around the house. Sharing with one another was so much fun and a bit exciting too when you made it a surprise and got to run. I wonder what would happen if we did that now?
Got a letter from Grandma the other day. She writes:
The other day I went up to a local Christian bookstore and saw a “Honk If You Love Jesus” bumper sticker. I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a thrilling Choir performance, followed by a thunderous Circle meeting, so I bought the sticker and I put it on my bumper.
Boy, am I glad I did! What an up-lifting experience that followed! I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord and how good He is . . . and I didn’t notice that the light had changed. It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus, because if he hadn’t honked, I’d never have noticed!
I found that lots of people loved Jesus! Why, while I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy, and then he leaned out of his window and screamed, “For the love of God! Go! Go! Go!”
What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus! Everyone started honking! I just leaned out of my window and started waiving and smiling at all these loving people. I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love.
A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and started walking towards me. I bet they wanted to pray, or ask me what Church I attended. But this is when I noticed the light had changed. So I waved to all my sisters and brothers grinning, and drove on through the intersection.
I noticed I was the only car that got through the intersection before the light changed again and I felt kind of sad that I had to leave them after all the love we had shared. Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!
Welcome our neighbors into the church for the bible story. Celebrate that Jesus is the reason for this season.

This week, I happened onto this recipe shared by another blogger and thought you may like it also.
My children love to bake and if we can share the story of Jesus, it is an added bonus. There are a few things that you will need to get organized before you start. The ingredients are listed and also some painters tape, a wooden spoon, and your bible are needed. See the recipe for these simple cookies.
